CASTING CALL – SHORT FILM “Reflection"

We are currently seeking talented actors and actresses in the Gothenburg area for an upcoming short film production. If the project sounds interesting, please apply with the following:

-A short video presentation in English (max. 1 minute): In the presentation video, please briefly explain why you find this project interesting.

Due to time constraints, we can only contact applicants who move on to the next step of the casting process. Selected candidates will be asked to submit a self-tape.

Production Details

**Location: **Gothenburg, Sweden

**Shooting period: **1–3 days, sometime in end of March or beginning of April

Language: Clear, confident English (preferably American English). All on-set directions will be given in English.

Compensation: This is a non-paid, independent passion project. Travel and accommodation expenses are not covered by the production. The production will provide food and snacks on set, IMDb credit, and material for showreels upon completion of the film.

Ambition: Submission to film festivals in Sweden and internationally.

About the Film

Reflection is the image we cast onto a surface — a fabric, a wall, a moment. It is not always beautiful, and not always accepted, because it carries the weight of a life lived, sometimes chaotic, sometimes marked by shame or silence. A reflection shows what we try to hide as much as what we choose to reveal.

This film follows two people, two human beings sharing the same space yet living opposite destinies. Through these characters, Reflection explores a truth we all know, even if we rarely admit it: life is in constant motion. We are never fixed in light or darkness. All it takes is a single moment, a single event, to shift everything.

Adam (35–40) – Lead role, man, non-scandinavian appearance

3–4 days on set

Once a happy man, Adam has faced significant difficulties in life, leading him into depression and isolation. Over the course of the film, he undergoes a transformation from apathy and self-loathing to self-acceptance and self-love. Adam has limited dialogue but carries several emotionally important scenes alone and with another lead role, Anna.
