DJ Monica, born in Umeå is regarded as first female DJ in Sweden. She began spinnin records 1983 at Universum where she was resident DJ for a 10-year period. Monica celebrated 40 years as a DJ 2023 and if you ask her how long she´s going to perform she answers: “I have just begun!” DJ Monica is working at the funkiest clubs in Sweden – like Café Opera – but what is most important – she has dedicated her deepest love and respect to music.
